Pursuant to the provisions of the Law on Governance of Capital Shares of a Public Person and Capital Companies, a shareholders’ meetings on January 4 elected new members of the supervisory boards of SJSC "Latvijas dzelzceļš" (LDz) subsidiaries “LDZ CARGO” Ltd. and “LDZ ritošā sastāva serviss” Ltd., chosen by the nomination commission.
The meeting of “LDZ CARGO” Ltd. shareholders appointed Rems Razums as chairman of the supervisory board for a five-year term and Raimonds Freimanis as an independent member of the supervisory board. Edvīns Korneliuss stays on as an independent member of the supervisory board. The appointments of the new members of the supervisory board took immediate effect.
Rems Razums is currently the Chief Financial Officer of SJSC “Latvijas dzelzceļš”, and he has been performing the duties of a supervisory board member of “LDz ritošā sastāva serviss” Ltd. since 2020. Razums’ professional experience includes managerial positions in various companies, including being reconstruction and modernization manager at JSC “Latvijas balzams” / Amber Beverage Group, as well as the company’s logistics manager. He has also held managerial positions in companies of “Narvesen” Group and been a board member of “Linstow”. Professional activities of Raimons Freimanis include more than 20 years of experience in managerial positions at “Skonto Plan” Ltd., “Skonto Group” Ltd. and “Skonto Prefab” Ltd., as well as “Sakret” Ltd., among other enterprises.
The meeting of “LDz ritošā sastāva serviss” Ltd. shareholders appointed Baiba Beatrise Sleže as a supervisory board member for a five-year term and Āris Dandens as an independent member of the supervisory board for a five-year term. Guntis Stafeckis, chairman of the supervisory board of “LDz ritošā sastāva serviss” Ltd., stays on as an independent member of the supervisory board. The appointments of the new members of the supervisory board of “LDz ritošā sastāva serviss” Ltd. also took effect on January 4.
Baiba Beatrise Sleže has more than 20 years of experience in managerial positions at companies operating in various sectors, including TV3 media group in Latvia, JSC “LIDO” and RIMI Baltic Group. During her career, Sleže has been an auditor at Ernst&Young multinational audit firm and has managed transaction consulting projects at PricewaterhouseCoopers audit firm. Sleze has been a supervisory board member of “LDZ Cargo” Ltd. since January 1, 2021. Āris Dandens, currently technology innovation manager at JSC “Sadales tīkls”, has held various positions in energy industry enterprises since 1999 – he has been a supervisory board member of JSC “Augstsprieguma tīkls” and chairman of the supervisory board of JSC “Sadales tīkls”, and has held managerial posts in other enterprises.
