On 4 January 2008 Free Trade Union Confederation of Latvia (LBAS) solemnly awarded the best collaboration partners of the previous year.
The ceremony in which LBAS awards the best collaboration partners is being organized for the 3rd time and it has become a tradition that this event takes place on Twelfth Night – in the first week of the year. It is a good occasion for both the members of trade unions and the employers to evaluate work results – signed collective agreements, provided additional warranties for the employees, social and economic issues, material and moral support for trade union activities.
SJSC Latvijas dzelzceļš was awarded in the group State Institutions and Companies. Trade Union of Railwaymen and Transport Sector Workers of Latvia is one of the biggest and strongest trade unions in the country, which successfully carries out social dialogue with the employer about defence of employee’s interests.
