SJSC Latvijas Dzelzcels (LDZ, Latvian Railway) holds the 9th position among the most valuable Latvian companies with the total value of 267,452 million Ls and is one of 23 Latvian companies with a value exceeding 100 million Ls according to a list compiled by Baltic Screen and the corporate financial company Laika Stars which was published in the newspaper Dienas Bizness couple of days ago, on 1 October.
Hansabanka ranges atop of the most valuable Latvian companies with the total value of 718,226 million Ls followed by SEB Lavijas Unibanka(SEB Unibanka) with 464,35 million Ls and SJSC Latvenergo with the total value of 408,275 Ls.
Among the most valuable ten are also JSC Parex Banka, JSC Latvijas Gaze, Latvijas Mobilais Telefons Ltd., Lattelecom Ltd., JSC Rietumu Bankaand JSC Latvijas Kugnieciba (Latvian Shipping Company).
The experts have established the market value of the most significant Latvian companies based on the information publicly available in the Lursoft database.
The experts assess the conformity of the results approximately within 70 – 75% range.
Laika Stars has used the method of market data comparison as a methodology of assessment. In its framework, the assessment is being based on present activities of the company by comparing it with companies recently involved in purchasing or selling transactions in the specific industry.
On the top, most extensive are companies represented involved in passenger or freight traffic, there are in total 17 of them. The banking sector has built up an almost similarly widespread representation – 15 banks.
